Inboard/Outboard: Outboard Engine Type: Gasoline Production Date: 1940's Engine Design: Two-Stroke Overall Condition: Good Rebuilt/Restored: Untouched Horsepower: 5.4@4000 RPM Cylinders: 4 Bore: 1 - 1/2" Stoke: 1 - 3/8" Coolant: Accession:MiscOtbd 30 Remarks: Mr. Guske donated this engine on 10/03/07. Evinrude introduced the Zephyr in 1940, and except for the war years, sold it throughout the 40's as a smooth-running, deluxe fishing motor. This engine, with its quad opposed-cylinder construction, had a displacement of approximately 10 cubic inches. It was considered the "Cadillac" of fishing motors. Likely to be accessioned. Since we now have more than one Zephyr in our collection (see 2001.1.6), we will retain the best example and sell any others.
