Remarks: This engine was listed as part of the "six engines and one motor stand" donated by Mrs. Sturges on Jan. 11, 2000, and said to include a spare gas tank, cap, valve and bracket. To date, this engine and stand have not been located. The motor stand was said to be a " Motor stand with wheels; vintage as illustrated in Peter Hunn's " The Old Outboard Book". Mr Hunn's book, third edition, contains many photographs, sketches and descriptions of outboard motor engine stands. Page 63 shows three stands, all without wheels, but has a description (no picture) of an early 1920's wooden " Evinrude Cart" having 16" rubber tired spoke wheels designed for distance moving of an engine and equipment. Page 82 of that book has a photo of a 1930 engine mounted on a wheeled stand, the only sketch or photo in the book clearly showing wheels on an engine stand.
