Remarks: Partly disassembled. Equiped with a 2-1 reduction gear. Mr. Mignone did not indicate the engine production date at the time of his donation. Since Lathrop was owned by Burmeister & Wain between the years 1957 and 1964, this engine likely would have beem manufactured during that period. Our latest Lathrop catalog (1948) lists the Mystic Model four-cycle engines as having "An L- head block, with two independent systems of high tension ignition; battery distributor with coil, and high tension magneto with impulse coupling, two spark plugs per cylinder." Hand written comments in our file state that engine has "Distributor ignition - single plug, (per cylinder)" Perhaps this engine and the 1948 engine are different. Engine badly rusted.
