Estimated production date of 1947-48 provided by donor. Engine displacement is 133 cu. in., firing order is 1243. The L-Head engine blocks for LH-4 Lathrop Marine Engines were manufactured and warrantied by the HUPP Corporation, Hercules Engine Division, Canton, Ohio. These engines were usually equiped with Paragon Reverse Gears and with or without Reduction Gears, and Zenith updraft marine carburetors with flame arrestor. Engine weight is 495 lbs. with reduction gear and 440 lbs. without. The LH-4 Engine is rated 31 HP @ 1800 RPM. HP ratings at 1000 RPM and 2200 RPM are 16 and 38 HP, respectively.
