Remarks: Schebler carburetor; detachable heads, Bosch horseshoe high tension magneto (Pat. 1905), vapor rectifier (Pat. 1914), paragon gear box; engine frozen; exhaust manifold cracked; painted red, blue, gold, black; perhaps the Holly carburetor was replaced with the Schebler by the Seaport after the engine was acquired. Valve on bottom of each cylinder. Engine considered to be beyond repair, needs too many replacement parts. Two brass tags on starboard side on cover plates for transfer passages read "THE BRIDGEPORT/VAPOR RECTIFIER/PATENTED FEB 3, 1914" Two valves mentioned above ventilate two crankcases; they are on port side and are connected so as to operate together. Recommend rebuilding with new cylinders and exhaust manifold. (Engine should have been desalinated.)
