History:Maiden voyage November 1927. In 1934 became part of amalgamated Cunard-White Star Line. Became cruise ship after September 1934. In August 1939 became an armed merchant cruiser. Torpedoed and sunk November 3, 1940 by U.99, with loss of 49 lives.
