History:Laid down as NORMANNIA, launched as AUGUSTA VICTORIA. 1896-97 lengthened by Harland & Wolff, Belfast, to 522 feet (8,497 tons); 2 masts; spelling of name changed to AUGUSTE VICTORIA. In May 1904 became KUBAN (Russian military cruiser). Scrapped 1907.
