Mears (1829-1899); two small gold-colored buttons, oval in shape; oval design on face of each, surrounded by a sort of "trench" near the edge of the face, that looks as though it was once filled with enamel or something similar; filling has since fallen out; back of each button has a small metal loop to attach to article of clothing; two buttons are attached to each other by a small piece of metal attached to each of the loops on their backsides.
