Title: Metal tag Accession Number: 2005.34.362 Category: CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES Type: Tag Maker: Place: Date: Materials: silver Description: Tag; Metal tag; from the collection of Captain Richard C. Mears (1829-1899); small silver tag, rectangular in shape with hole at top that could have been used to attach it to another object is now separated and broken; engraved on front are the letters "E A V V" in an art deco font; the back of the tag has an engraved pattern to create a border; most likely belonged to Edward Alfred Van Valkenburgh (son of Nellie G. Mears and Joseph Dwight Van Valkenburgh).
