LIGHT"; printed on back "LIGHT HOUSE SERIES 1 TO 50/ PLUM ISLAND LIGHT./ Plum Island Light is on the shoal/ off Orient Point, the extreme north-/ easterly end of Long Island, N. Y./ Has a fixed red incandescent oil vapor/ light. Height 74 3/4 feet. Visible 16-1/2/ miles. Established 1827. Rebuilt/ 1870. The lighthouses are mostly in the East, but there are a few (such as Tillamook Light) from the West Coast. The backs contain information abou the lighthouse, the sound of its signal and the year it was established.
