Description: Tobacco card, Lighthouse series by American Tobacco Co. for Hassan Cigarettes (T77); Cape Flattery Light, no. 13 in the series; color drawing on front depicting Cape Flattery Light and background scenery; surrounded by thin black frame line and white border; printed on front "CAPE FLATTERY LIGHT"; printed on back "LIGHT HOUSE SERIES 1 TO 50/ CAPE FLATTERY LIGHT./ On Tatoosh Island, seacoast of/ Washington, 1/2 mile northeasterly of/ Cape Flattery, southerly side of the/ entrance to Juan de Frica (sic) Strait./ Has fixed white oil light with red/ sector. It is 155 feet above mean high/ water and is visible 22 miles. Estab-/ lished in 1857. DIST.N.Y." "This series contains attractive drawings of 48 lighthouses in coastal locations around the country, plus the Statue of Liberty and a card depicting early coastal signaling methods. The lighthouses are mostly in the East, but there are a few (such as Tillamook Light) from the West Coast. The backs contain information abou the lighthouse, the sound of its signal and the year it was established.
