Langford who was a teacher aboard the vessel when it sank May 2, 1961; he used slides in this collection (2002.35.1-657) for lectures about the sinking. The following transcription is from Richard Langford Collection AV 193:2002-5,6: [TCR 01:46:11]: “These girls are from Peter Stuyvesant Junior College, which was kind of a twelfth grade high school affair in Curacao. And they had invited our boys out for a basketball game, and whipped them soundly. And in return, the boys asked them to come out for a daysail, and here they are, the girls from Peter Stuyvesant College...”
