Langford who was a teacher aboard the vessel when it sank May 2, 1961; he used slides in this collection (2002.35.1-657) for lectures about the sinking. The following transcription is from Richard Langford Collection AV 193:2002-5,6: [TCR 01:45:29]: “And that’s the Curacao International Hotel [on right--light pointer]. I [Richard Langford] think that’s the first time I was ever in a casino. And I think I won about $170 dollars playing roulette--black and white or red or whatever it was. I don’t think I’ve played since. But now we’ve got all our sails set, and we’re going out for a daysail. [Willemstad, Curacao, Dutch West Indies.]”
