Langford who was a teacher aboard the vessel when it sank May 2, 1961; he used slides in this collection (2002.35.1-657) for lectures about the sinking. The following transcription is from Richard Langford Collection AV 193:2002-5,6: [TCR 01:43:06]: “They’re going to lower a longboat from those V-shaped notches over the galley. The galley is right here (uses light pointer)-- this is the wall of the galley here, the bulkhead of the galley. There’s a side door to the galley over here, and there’s another side door on the other side of the galley.”
