Description: 3 1/4" x 4" lantern slide copied from "Harper's Weekly" cover illustration (Vol. XXIX, No. 1500) published September 19, 1885. Image of the sloop yachts PURITAN and GENESTA portrayed during one of the races of the International Cup Races (later known as the America's Cup) of September, 1885, undersail, port views. PURITAN, the American defender, was a 94' gaff-rigged cutter built in 1885 by Lawley & Son from designs by Edward Burgess. GENESTA was the British challenger built in 1884 in Scotland by D. & W.
