Image of two of the participants in the race, BOLERO, in the foreground, and BARUNA, in the background to the right, both showing a starboard beam view with spinnakers set. BOLERO was a 73'4" famous racing auxiliary yawl, sail #134, built in 1949 by Henry B. Nevins, Inc. of City Island, New York and designed by the firm of Sparkman & Stephens. BARUNA was a 72' yawl, sail #98, built in 1938 by the Quincy Adams Yacht Yard of Quincy, Massachusetts and designed by Sparkman & Stephens in 1937.
