Description: 4 x 5 Kodak safety negative taken by Rosenfeld and Sons on September 22, 1945. View of the yacht historian William P. Stephens, seen standing in a yacht yard. Mr. Stephens was born in Philadelphia, and a graduate of Rutgers University in 1873. He died on May 10, 1946 at age 91. He was known as "the father of American Yacht reporting". Typed on original negative sleeve: "112898F / 9/22/45 / Stephens / 4877". Handwritten on original sleeve: "W.P. / died May 10, 1946". Note: Most prints from this negative show cropped bust view.
