George Comer. Used by Comer to illustrate lectures about his Arctic and seafaring experiences. Depicts an Aivilik Inuit woman known as Shoofly [Nivisanaaq] using a sewing machine. Photo taken in deck house onboard whaling schooner, probably A.T. GIFFORD, ca. 1907-1912. Same image as 1983.25.55.
